Education
I received my Masters in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Los Angeles. In addition to my degrees, I have completed training for EMDR to further my trauma-focused approach to therapy.
In my spare time, I value personal growth and connection, which are reflected in my reading, writing, and cooking hobbies. As well as the time that I can spend with my child and animals playing, going to the park, and exploring.
About Caitlin Skorupski, AMFT
Hello, my name is Caitlin! I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#137284). I use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Theories along with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with a wide range of clients, though I specialize in working with adolescents/ teenagers (12-17), complex and childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic illness.
I started my work in Mental Health with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) with adolescents on the Autism Spectrum before transferring into both residential and outpatient settings for higher need and risk adolescents 11-17 and adults. I have worked in multiple school-based settings with adolescents and their families before moving to private practice.
My personal experiences have provided me with valuable insights and empathy that I bring to my work as a therapist. I can connect with my clients and understand their unique challenges, as I have personally navigated similar experiences. This allows me to guide clients toward healing with a sense of compassion and understanding. I hope to empower my clients to understand that they are not defined by their traumas and help them navigate the journey toward healing.
