Education
I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California where I was trained in Depth Psychology. I also hold a BA from University of Texas, Austin.
I did my graduate research on EMDR, from a depth psychology orientation. I have since gained training and experience in other trauma-informed
approaches, including Attachment-Based, Somatic, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
I have found that utilizing a variety of tools, based on each individual's needs, is the best approach to facilitate change for clients who feel stuck in unhealthy patterns.
About Laura Rose, LMFT
Welcome! My name is Laura Rose, the founder of Laura Rose Therapy & Coaching. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been in practice for 12 years. I have a physical office located in Marin and Berkeley and see clients virtually. I also work with clients nationwide as a coach.
I come from a depth psychology orientation, which takes into account the unconscious beliefs, attitudes, and self-defeating patterns hidden from everyday awareness that impact our well-being and relationships. In my practice, I use approaches like Psychodynamic, Jungian, Attachment-based, and Somatic therapies, as well as Dreamwork and EMDR to help you transform your inner and relational conflicts into opportunities for growth and life change. Though much of my work focuses on developmental trauma, I also enjoy working with individuals and couples during life changes, midlife transitions, relationship struggles, and those seeking to find more fulfillment and meaning in their lives.
My life experience as a mother, partner, corporate executive, meditator, and traveler, and all the trials and tribulations along the way, led to my becoming a Psychotherapist. I’ve studied both Eastern and Western philosophies and religions, which allows me to bring a wealth of depth to my work with clients.
Through living a life of introspection and self-discovery, I have come to value the inner worlds of others and have developed immense compassion and empathy. I also understand that, at times, humor and lightness are essential to the healing process. During our work, I hope to be able to help you see the beauty in who you are and to provide the unconditional acceptance that is foundational to making lasting change.
